Music Photography | Toronto Photographer of Creativity Melanie Gordon

If you have read my blog posts you will know that I am passionate about encouraging creativity in children. I am also passionate about photographing the creative process, whether it is with dancers, musicians, or visual artists. Music photography for me is really about the becoming of music.

Last weekend I had the opportunity to photograph a band called Moscow Apartment during a recording session at Pacha Sound.

Brighid Fry and Pascale Padilla – two friends who have known each other since they were six years old – have enormous talent, vision and creativity. It’s hard to believe they are only 15 and 16 years old – living examples of what can happen when we nurture creativity in children. Children can grow up to be creative leaders, expressing themselves unapologetically, unafraid of putting themselves out there and offering their gifts to the world.

They can inspire others. This is what true leaders do.

I photographed Moscow Apartment in the recording studio as they laid down vocals for a new album. Their voices harmonized beautifully, offering a dynamic contrast to the harder rhythms of their guitars.

I feel lucky to have been able to witness their radiance unfolding. Check out their gorgeous sounds here: https://moscowapartment.ca
